Hi! I am a Mom, but I am not a Mommy Blogger. I like doing things myself, but this is not a how-to or craft blog.  I am interested in health and wellness simply because I want to live a long and healthy life. I am usually the first to know about and use new technology, but this is not a tech blog.

This is where I share the things I learn everyday while:

  • renovating our red roof house
  • becoming healthy
  • organizing and preserving our memories
  • launching a Virtual Assistant business for Christian authors and
  • simply living life.

About The Retired Housewife…

About five years ago, when my youngest entered ninth grade I realized my days of the three C’s (cooking, cleaning and chauffeuring) were about over. I stopped working as a software trainer and help desk support analyst years ago and started to wonder what was next? Blogging and social media were becoming household words and I was excited about the opportunities My kids were too old for me to be a Mommy blogger, I had been involved with personal computers, as a software trainer and help desk analyst for twenty years and was anxious to sharpen my skills and get back the game from the comfort of my own home. Preserving Memories

Preserving Memories

Technology for preserving memories is evolving so fast it makes my head spin.

Here is where I share my strategies for organizing and using digital photos.

Red Roof House

Red Roof House

I am having a lot of fun DIYing my way through our “new” 100+ year old Victorian farmhouse.

Some recent projects include: chalk painting furniture, sewing pillow shams, and styling bookcases.

Health and Wellenss

I struggle with chronic fatigue due to Hashimoto’s Disease. Between the fatigue and the damage to my thyroid staying active and at my ideal weight is a constant battle.

I am not afraid to try new things and gladly share what has worked and what hasn’t.

My definition of stuff is a collection of unrelated items. In this area of my website I share recommendations on products and services, reviews of books, tv shows, music, opinions on current events and other, well stuff.

Coming Soon

I am looking forward to offering my marketing and publishing expertise to authors as a Virtual Assistant.
